OnePlus is making some of the best budget flagships since the last couple of years. One of the outstanding features of OnePlus phones is the Dash Charging technology.

“OnePlus charging is one of the best,” Lau said through an interpreter in an interview on Monday at MWC 2019. “Wireless charging is far inferior.”

Even though companies like Samsung and Huawei are implementing reverse wireless charging on their devices, OnePlus still thinks that the tech isn’t fast enough and shouldn’t be used yet. Meanwhile, OnePlus is at MWC to show off a prototype of its 5G smartphone, which will come to two carriers in Europe in the second quarter.

With the physical quick charge plug, OnePlus says, you can get your battery 50 percent charged in 20 minutes and fully charged in less than an hour. So according to a customer’s point of view, wireless charging isn’t that of convenience.

Do you use wireless charging on your phone? Let us know in the comments below.

Qualcomm is also announcing about its future plans at MWC. The plans include launching a chipset with an integrated 5G modem.  Every 5G device we see this year has a processor, say a Snapdragon 855, and a 5G modem, which is made by Qualcomm as well.

These are two separate components which have to be put together to make a 5G device.  These separate components result in excessive use of battery and performance from the chip. That’s why Qualcomm announcing an integrated chipset is a pretty big deal, as it will mean more battery-efficient smartphones with 5G connectivity in the future.

The chipset will come in the first half of 2020, says Qualcomm.  This chip will be probably called Snapdragon 865 if the current naming conventions are considered.

We’re seeing the second flagship from LG, which is the V50 ThinQ 5G. As the name suggests, it is a 5G device which basically looks the same as the V40 from last year. Only this time, it contains a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor wand X50 5G modem, support for Wi-Fi 6, and a larger 4,000 mAh battery. The lit-up back also displays “5G” every time you touch the screen.

Unlike the G8, this one doesn’t have any of the features like depth-sensing Z cam or vibrating Crystal OLED display. Instead of that, it goes for a  pair of stereo speakers, a normal 6.4-inch OLED display, and dual cameras in the back – featuring one 12-MP main camera, and one 16-MP wide-angle camera.

LG also increased the size of the V50 5G’s vapor chamber cooling system by 40-percent to handle the extra heat generated by 5G modems.

But this phone also has something which the G8 ThinQ doesn’t – Dual Screen Displays! LG says the screen can be used to multitask. It also features a UI that makes it easy to move apps from one display to another quickly between screens quickly, and it can also be used as a dedicated controller for gaming, with touch controls on the lower display.

With Huawei and Samsung launching their own foldable phones, this might be LG’s way of not losing the game. There’s no official pricing or availability info for the V50 5G yet.

Keep following us for more updates about the device.

LG launched its smartphone and nobody saw it coming! The latest flagship G8 ThinQ comes with some really innovative tech which will baffle your minds.

On the outside, not everything has changed. The design language is pretty much the same. The device still has a notch, a rear fingerprint scanner, and it even retains the 3.5 mm headphone jack!

Here are the official specs of the device –

Hand ID

The phone, however, comes with a really cool feature the Hand ID.

The LG G8 ThinQ has a special Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera on the front.  This sensor gathers information from the hemoglobin in your blood and renders a unique image of your veins inside your hand. Hovering your hand over the camera, you won’t need to touch your phone at all to unlock it.

Hand ID builds into another feature called Air Motion. Because the phone’s front camera can track and read your hand movements, you can interface with the phone in a whole new, touchless way.

LG didn’t release any availability dates or pricing yet. Keep following us for more updates.

HMD Global just launched some new cool devices along with the flagship, the Nokia 9 PureView at MWC. These devices are affordable and yet carry the legacy of Nokia. Let’s take a look at them.

Nokia 1 Plus

This is the successor to the entry-level Nokia 1 which was launched last year. The Nokia 1 Plus runs the Android Go version of Android Oreo. Android Go is a skimmed version of Android which is specifically made for low specs phones.

The phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor and includes 1GB/2GB of memory and 8GB or 16GB of storage. A 2,500mAh battery is embedded in the chassis. HMD says the 1GB version will cost 89 euros and the 2GB version will cost 99 euros, available starting in March.

Nokia 4.2

This device features a stylish  2.5D glass on the front and the back. It has a 5.71-inch HD+ display at 18:9 with a teardrop notch at the top. It also has a 13MP main camera and an accompanying 2MP depth sensor. This allows the phone to take better bokeh photos. Other features include an LED flash, depth of field editor, and color pop. The Nokia 4.2 goes on sale in April for 169 euros.

Nokia 3.2

This device’s main highlight is its notification light (no pun intended). HMD Global realized that people often miss out notifications if the phone is kept upside down. So they moved it to the power button and now it’s visible.

A 6.26-inch display offers HD+ resolution in the 18:9 aspect ratio. A very small teardrop notch at the top holds the user-facing camera. HD+ resolution in the 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 processor and 2/16GB as well as 3/32 GB storage options are available.  Pricing for the Nokia 3.2 starts at 129 euros, sales start in April.

Nokia 210

So Nokia is back giving us nostalgic memories by launching the Nokia 210. There’s a 2.4-inch screen on the front above the keypad. Other specs include a VGA camera, 16MB of storage, and FM radio, and 1,020mAh battery. The 210 is limited to 2G networks.

The Nokia 210 will be on sale starting next week for just 30 euros.

Did you get your nostalgic memories back and want to buy a Nokia once again? Let us know in the comments below.

We finally get to have a look of the Huawei Mate X after it was leaked on the banner on Barcelona yesterday. The device though looks amazing but the pricing is pretty higher than expected. It is expected to launch on MWC event this year.

The device is supposed to be thin and might feature 5G as well. The price is a bit high. Huawei has priced this device for $2600. That is $600 more than the Samsung Galaxy Fold, although once both are compared we can make a better assessment of their values.

The device features a massive 8-inch display on the front and a massive 6.38-inch display. If folded to a normal device pattern, it will have a massive 6.6-inch everyday usage phone. This device acts as simple tablet or a mobile phone.

Huawei, Oak OS

But do you think the price of Huawei Mate X is justified? Will it be able to stand against Galaxy Fold?

Another MWC related leak, and this time we have Huawei’s 5G Foldable phone – the Mate X. The leak is a photo taken of a billboard, presumably in Barcelona ahead of MWC 2019.

As you can see, this will be Huawei’s first foldable phone. This phone is quite different from what we saw with the Galaxy Fold. Instead of having a small display in the front and then unfolding it to unveil the large display, the Mate X appears to have a single panel that serves as both the outer and inner screen.

On the billboard, you can also see the text  “world’s first foldable 5G phone.” But after knowing that the Galaxy Fold starts at $1980, let’s see how Huawei prices the 5G device.

Samsung is set to launch its Galaxy Wearables along with the Galaxy S10 at MWC 2019. And it just leaked the entire lineup through its own official app.

The Galaxy Wearable app for Android now displays several new products on the front page including wireless earbuds, a smartwatch, and a fitness band. The first one is the Galaxy Watch Active which seems like a sports-focused smartwatch. It has a 40mm case, according to the app, and comes in at least two colors.

Next are the Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e, two fitness bands with watch-style rubber straps. We still do not know what “e” specifies here. And finally, we have the Galaxy Earbuds. These are said to be able to charge wirelessly from the Galaxy S10 itself.
