Qualcomm, a few weeks ago successfully unveiled the Snapdragon 855 SoC at an event held in Hawaii where top creators attend the session. As of now, there are no phones rocking the Snapdragon 855, although, rumors about the OnePlus 7 to be launched with the 855 have been floating around. Lenovo out of nowhere comes with its newly announced Z5 GT Pro which might as well be the first ever phone to come with the latest addition from Qualcomm.

The device packs in 12 GB RAM and a slider design which we’ve previously seen on the Oppo Find X and few Huawei devices now. The device sports a 6.39inch display with a full resolution of 2340×1080 with 95.6 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Following the footsteps of the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition, the Z5 Pro also sports a carbon fiber design at the rear and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Z5 Pro sports a dual rear camera module with a 16MP+24MP setup and a dual LED Flash. To the front, it holds a 16MP+8MP setup for crisp selfies. It packs in a decent sized 3,350mAh battery with no news about fast charging or wireless charging. The Lenovo Z5 Pro runs on ZUI 10.0 based on Android 9 Pie.

Along with the Z5 Pro GT, the company launched a lower end version named Z5S which comes with Snapdragon 710 SoC, 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage, which according to the reports will be priced at around Rs. 15,000.

As for the pricing and availability, the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT will be available starting from January 24, 2019, priced at 4,398 Yuan for the 12GB RAM variant.

Motorola is well known for its budget-oriented devices all over the world. Recently, they launched the Moto G6 Plus and Play which was somewhat popular in the Asian markets. Now, Moto G7 Play rumors have started pouring out. The Moto G7 Play was spotted on the FCC certification website.

The Moto G7 Play can be seen in all its glory on the website of FCC. As per the listing, the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 632 SoC and a Notch!.

Folks at Droid Life had the chance of getting the images before everything disappeared in thin air. It’s the first time that Motorola will be featuring the notch on mid-range devices.

The Moto G7 series launch is imminent and as per sources, the G7 Play is the most affordable of the lot. The G7 Play according to the listing will be powered by the Snapdragon 632 SoC which is an upgrade from last year’s Snapdragon 400 SoC. The processor will be coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and according to some sources, it’ll feature 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Although, this news has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Live images of the G7 Play was seen on the website with just one camera at the back and a fingerprint sensor which is embedded into the traditional Motorola branding. The device will come in two color variants, black, and silver.

According to the listing, the G7 Play will have a USB Type-C port with just 2,820mAh battery. Also, the 3.5mm headphone jack makes a return.

Lenovo is reportedly preparing for a major launch of four devices in the Moto G7 series later this year. Q1 2019 for Motorola looks promising.

According to MySmartPrice, the upcoming Moto G7 will not have the Play variant. This comes into light when MySmartSpace got a hand on the logos.

The Play Variant was launched with Moto G4. But we didn’t see any of the Play Variant from G5 and G6. Only the regular and Plus variants are launch to date. In comparison to other models, Play variant is a budget-friendly device.

The Play Variant, on a contrary, has the cheap price, with lower resolution display and much other major difference from Regular/Plus variants.

However, just seeing the logos, we cannot conclude that Lenovo is trying to shut down the Play variant. We cannot say anything about the same until Lenovo publicly announces about the same.

The expected time to catch a glimpse of the Moto G7 is the month of April, which is generally the most preferred time for Lenovo to launch devices.

Lenovo teased out some pretty amazing renders about the Z5 a couple of weeks ago but the phone they launched yesterday in Beijing wasn’t that one.
To be honest, the Z5 looks stunning. It has got the modern design with almost bezel less display, houses a notch and has a little bottom chin. But the renders hinted a truly all-screen design free from bezels and notches.
The Z5 has a 6.2-inch 19:9 1080p screen with bezels that Lenovo claims are thinner than the Xiaomi Mi 8 and iPhone X, and a notch that is narrower than those two phones. But it still has a notch, like practically every other Android phone this year. Lenovo claims a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent.
The phone has an unspecified eight-core Qualcomm processor and 16-megapixel dual cameras. The battery is 3,300mAh and can be fast-charged at 18W.
And the Z5 is pretty cheap at 1,299 yuan (~$200) for a model with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, or 1,799 yuan (~$280) for 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
It’ll go on sale in China on June 12th, the day Vivo is set to announce its own much-hyped phone that takes cues from the impressive bezel-less Apex prototype we saw earlier this year.
We don’t know yet if the phone will be available for other Asian markets like India or not.
Keep following us for more updates like this.

It seems like Lenovo has achieved a major breakthrough. The phone appeared out of nowhere when Lenovo first boasted it from their Twitter account and fascinated every tech enthusiast in the world.

Lenovo Z5 looks like an iPhone X, without a notch.

The upcoming Z5 has a stunning edge-to-edge display with incredibly slim bezels, but it is missing the controversial notch that has been slowly invading Android devices since Apple unveiled its latest flagship last September.

Though the Z5 looks like an iPhone X, it is more beautiful looking than any other smartphone ever created. We aren’t sure how Lenovo has achieved this breakthrough but Lenovo did file 18 Patents to achieve this 95% screen to body ration display according to Lenovo vice president Chang Cheng.

Where is the camera, front speaker and other sensors?

It’s not yet clear whether the Z5 will have a front-facing selfie camera, or how you’ll hear calls. There doesn’t appear to be a speaker in the narrow bezel above its display, so it’s possible the company is using a piezoelectric speaker behind the screen like Xiaomi has in the Mi Mix.

It’s also unclear how the Z5 will handle security. Presumably, it will use fingerprint scanning — there appear to be no sensors for facial recognition — but we don’t know whether that scanner will be located on the back of the device or beneath its display.

The Lenovo Z5 will come in June 2018. Stay tuned and keep us following for more updates.
