Appl ePAY is now going live in Hungary and Luxembourg. The addition supported Apple Pay’s international expansion. All the Apple products in these countries can now take full advantage of Apple’s payment system.
BGL BNP Paribas is now supporting Apple Pay in Luxembourg. However, it is quite unclear whether Apple Pay will expand beyond BGL BNP Paribas. In Hungary, Apple Pay is supported by OTP Bank. Apple Pay is also rumored to expand in the Top 4 banks of Australia.
Apple Pay is still in the rolling out phase in these two countries. So you might experience some bugs. But if you have a supporting card, you can head over to the Wallets app and set up your payment options.
Apple Pay works on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. On the Mac, you can use Apple Pay on the web to easily make purchases through compatible websites. On Apple Watch, simply double-click the side button to reveal the Apple Pay interface.
The launch in the two countries makes Apple Pay live in 40 countries. Tim Cook touted earlier this year that Apple Pay would be available in more than 40 countries before the end of the year, and it’s clear the company is on track to meet that goal.
