Edge Insider channel starts, brings Edge on Chromium

Microsoft finally launched the Edge on Chromium browser for Windows. This is the old edge, with its engine shifted to Chromium Engine. However, most of the things are pretty the same.

The new site, called Microsoft Edge Insider Channel provides you two kind of build for new Edge: Dev Channel and Canary Channel.

The Dev Channel is a pre-beta stage of the browser. However, the canary is a very early build, probably, the alpha stage of the browser. This stage brings newer features, but with more breakdowns. However, the Dev channel build will bring those new features little late but will be little stable, although there is a chance that the feature might break without notice.

The browser is based on Chromium, so it is obvious that the installation will also be similar, but little with a design overhaul. Yes, the installer is a mere ~2MB in size but downloads the setup files like Chromium.

If we talk about the UI of the browser, it is pretty same, but with few changes. You will get a separate setting page.

Similarly, The Extention page is different on both the browsers. However, this browser still has some stuff like its parent. Bing Search is default search, Extensions are different from Chrome as well. Even, the Microsoft Store based IDM Integrated Module for Edge is not detectable by the Chromium-based browser.

The browser also has the Read Aloud feature found on default browser.
