Vizio SmartCast TVs Since 2016 are Getting Airplay 2 and Apple HomeKit Support
At CES 2019, Apple made a lot of news. I’m not talking about the giant ad Apple painted on the walls of a hotel facing the CES location, but something else. Apple partnered with a bunch of TV manufacturers to support AirPlay 2 and Apple HomeKit. Vizio SmartCast TVs are getting Airplay 2 and HomeKit support.
Vizio was the first company to announce the support for these features at CES 2019. Unlike other companies, all Vizio SmartCast TVs since 2016 will get the new Apple features.
Here is Apple’s list of Vizio models:
- P-Series Quantum (2019 and 2018)
- P-Series (2019, 2018 and 2017)
- M-Series (2019, 2018 and 2017)
- E-Series (2019, 2018 and 2017)
- D-series (2019, 2018 and 2017)
You can see there are no 2016 models in the above list but Vizio later tweeted out a confirmation –
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have confirmed that all 2016 4K UHD SmartCast Displays will support the Apple integration. -A

It is a great accomplishment for Vizio as other manufacturers like LG and Samsung are only getting these features on their brand new 2019 models.
