In a world full of Facial Recognition tech, Samsung is doing something different. It is ditching it’s already good enough Iris Scanner for something even better. The Galaxy S10 will feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor that will utilize 30% of the device’s display. That means, unlike a bunch of Asian phones, and even the OnePlus 6T, users won’t have to put their fingers to a specific location to unlock the phone.
The leak comes from Ice Universe, who tweeted about the Galaxy S10’s upcoming features in their tweets.
Compared to optical fingerprint sensors, the S10 ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is faster and has a larger recognition area, and 30% of the screens may be recognized.

Additionally, the Galaxy S10’s fingerprint sensor will be faster than anything else in the market right now. This includes the reasonably fast fingerprint sensor of the OnePlus 6T. The phone will also be the first to feature new technologies like UPS (Under-Panel Sensors). This includes sensors like Haptic engine and camera module in addition to the fingerprint sensor, all beneath the display.
