OnePlus might be the first OEM to bring Android Pie 9.0 with a custom skin to consumers. They have been working on the update from last week. The Update was a Beta back then. The update has been released for OnePlus 6.
OnePlus has released a changelog on their blog itself. Starting from now, OnePlus will name the OxygenOS according to the Android version released.
OnePlus confirms that only a few users will receive an update on their OnePlus 6. Whereas, the rest will get the update within a few days. This step helps in checking bugs in the update and faults during the update rollout.
The changelog says:
- Updated system to Android™ 9.0 Pie™
- Brand new UI for Android Pie
- New adaptive battery support
- New Android Pie gesture navigation
- Updated Android security patch to 2018.9
- Other new features and system improvements
- Do Not Disturb mode
- New Do Not Disturb (DND) mode with adjustable settings
- New Gaming mode 3.0
- Added text notification mode
- Added notification for 3rd party calls
- Accent color
- Supported accent color customization
If you own on of the OnePlus 6, that too in the selected regions such in a country like Germany, you can hit the Check For Updates button in Settings> System Updates.
