Galaxy J2 Core is a Not-so-stock Android Go Phone


A few months ago, it was reported that Samsung could be working on an Android Go device. Samsung today officially announced that phone, called the Galaxy J2 Core. This phone is a entry level phone from Samsung.

You might have seen Android Go smartphones rocking Stock Android interfaces. But Samsung has its own skin (Samsung UX) over Android Go. Yes, that’s true. It is not necessary that Android Go guarantees a stock android experience. In fact, there’s no mention of stock Android on Android Go’s website.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Specifications

The Galaxy J2 Core features a 5.0-inch TFT 540×960 pixel resolution display, Exynos 7570 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage. It also has an 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera. The device comes with a 2,600mAh battery.

The phone comes with Android Go edition apps, which require less data and memory to function. More memory and performance optimizations in Android Go promise faster performance.

Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy J2 Core will be available in Malaysia and India starting today. It will release the handset in other markets across the globe in the near future.
