Unlocked Galaxy S9 and S9+ Finally Gets a Security Update, Gets Updated to June Security Patch

Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus have finally got a security update after three months on all the unlocked units. This is the first security update the phones have received since their launch three months ago. The carrier specific models are yet to receive any updates yet.

As you can see in the screenshot above, we got the update which is build G965U1UES2ARF4 for our Galaxy S9+ and for those having the Galaxy S9, the build is G960U1UES2ARF4. It’s almost half a GB download, and will up your security patch level to June 1, 2018. Once you install this you’ll have the honor of being up to date, security-wise, until the end of the week.

The update is likely to be rolling out in phases or you can manually try yourself if you want to through settings.

We hope Samsung pushes out security updates during the month’s start instead of the month’s end.
