Microsoft Translator picks up Cortana Integration

4

Microsoft has released a new update for its Translator app. This update includes many new features including Cortana Integration, Inking Support, Live feature and more.

Here’s what’s new in Translator:

  • Cortana integration:

With this new Cortana integration, you can ask Cortana to start or join a conversation. For example, you can tell “Hey Cortana, start a conversation in Translator”. Chinese Simplified, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese languages are supported for this feature. However, Chinese Simplified supports additional commands like “Hey Cortana, ask Translator to start a conversation” and “Hey Cortana, ask Translator to join conversation {CONVERSATION CODE}”.

  • Inking support:

If you have a Windows 10 device with Inking support, you can now do text translation by writing with your mouse or stylus.

  • Advanced offline translation:

Microsoft is bringing the neural network-powered offline language packs to Windows 10 devices. This was released for iOS and Android devices last month. You can now download these offline language packs to translate when you don’t have an internet connection with greater accuracy.

  • Phrasebook & dictionary:

This feature will allow you to access 200+ essential phrases and words. You can also save commonly used phrases to your Favorites list.

  • Live feature:

You can now start or join a live, translated conversation across multiple languages.

Users should also note that this update does not support ARM (mobile). Users can download the update from Store link below:
