Burgundy Red Samsung Galaxy S8 Launches In India
The Samsung Galaxy S8 will now be offered in Burgundy Red color option in India, alongside the already available Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Maple Gold, and Orchid Gray variants. The announcement comes about a month after the company’s new Galaxy S9 flagship was announced in the country. According to Samsung, the Galaxy S8 still continues to be one of its best-selling smartphones a year after its debut in India.
Both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, including the 128GB variant of the latter, will be available in the Burgundy Red color starting this Friday, April 13. The new color variant was first announced last November and was later made available exclusively in South Korea. It is still not known if Samsung will further expand the variant’s availability to other markets.
Following the launch of the Galaxy S9 in India, Samsung announced a price cut for its 2017 flagships. Their prices were brought down to Rs. 49,990 ($769) and Rs. 53,990 ($830), respectively, and the Burgundy Red color variants of the phablets will also be available at the same prices. Samsung has partnered with Paytm to provide an extra cashback of Rs. 10,000 ($154) to consumers. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus were launched in India last month with a similar cashback offer, priced at Rs. 57,900 ($891) and Rs. 64,900 ($998), respectively.
