Microsoft announces new AI platform for developers in Windows Developer Day

2

For the last few years, Microsft has been investing more and more in AI, machine learning, and Cloud. Going ahead with the same idea, Microsoft today announced new AI platform for Windows developers. With the new AI platform, developers will be able to access and add pre-trained machine learning models to their existing and newer apps and software. Not only it would make the apps more intelligent but also increase the performance by manyfold. The AI models can run both on the local device or in the cloud depending on the needs and requirement.

With the next major update to Windows 10, we begin to deliver the advances that have been built into our apps and services as part of the Windows 10 platform. Every developer that builds apps on Windows 10 will be able to use AI to deliver more powerful and engaging experiences.

Microsoft is also pushing ONNX model with the new platform. Visual Studio Preview 15.7 will bring better support for the ONNX file support.

Open Neural Network Exchange (ONNX) is the first step toward an open ecosystem that empowers AI developers to choose the right tools as their project evolves. ONNX provides an open source format for AI models. It defines an extensible computation graph model, as well as definitions of built-in operators and standard data types.
