Apple is now using Google Cloud service to run iCloud

Apple does not seem to have any plan to enter the Cloud war between Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. But then one might wonder, whats powering their iCloud. Over the years, iCloud got into their share of scandals. Previously based on Amazon’s S3 and Microsoft’s Azure, now Apple is depending on Google’s Cloud structure for their service.  Apple has updated their security guide with Google’s involvement.

In case you are wondering if Google can read your data stored over iCloud, then no, Google cannot read it without an encryption key. This move sure benefits both Apple and Google, while making it tougher on Microsoft and Amazon.
