Honor 7X receives Face Unlock and other features in the latest OTA Update

Honor has started rolling out a new OTA update for its best mid-range device, Honor 7X. The update brings the long-awaited Face Unlock, AR Stickers and a few more changes to the device. The build number B192, also updates the phone to latest 2018 Security Patch.

The update for now is only rolling out to the Chinese Variants (Model AL10). This update has been reported by the guys at The Android Soul, so there has been no changelog yet. The update also revamps the Weather app completely.

Talking about the Face Unlock, you can enable it by going to Settings > Security and privacy > Face Unlock. After the iPhone X, OnePlus was the first to launch an accurate face unlocking system with its 5T. Now companies like Oppo and yes, Honor are following it too.  It is also reported that the OTA update adds smart lockscreen notifications feature, which allows users to display lockscreen notifications with their face.

The AR lens feature helps the users to tweak their camera experience. it can be accessed by heading over to Camera > Modes > AR lens. This feature helps to add stickers and also change the background while taking selfies.

The Honor 7X is the first $200 smartphone to get this feature. Running over it specs again it comes with an 5.93-inch Full HD+, 18:9 aspect ratio display, 3340 mAh battery, a dual-camera setup on the back. It has a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth-sensing camera on the back.The Honor 7X is a perfect balance between power, style and efficiency which are most of the things you will need in a mid-range smartphone today.
