Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy S9 and S9 will get launched at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2018. It now seems like another company may use the tech exhibition to unveil its flagship. We are talking about Xiaomi and its Mi 7 flagship smartphone. The Chinese phone maker will be one of the exhibitors at the MWC that will take place in Barcelona in the next month.
As you can see in the above screenshot from Xiaomi’s official website, it is confirmed that the company will attend the event as an exhibitor. If you recall, the company’s CEO Lei Jun had previously confirmed that Xiaomi Mi 7 will be unveiled during the Chinese spring season; which means sometime around end of February or early March. So speculations are rife that the next generation Xiaomi flagship will get announced at the upcoming MWC.
The Xiaomi Mi 7 has appeared in several leaks detailing on the phone’s specifications. Other that that, at the recent Snapdragon Tech Summit, Lei Jun said that the smartphone would be coming with Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor Snapdragon 845. If the Mi 7 does get announced at next month, Xiaomi could become the first Chinese OEM to launch a Snapdragon 845 powered smartphone.
Other than that, the Mi 7 will be the first Xiaomi phone to feature wireless charging. The smartphone is also believed to be equipped with AI abilities. The company had earlier said that it would be focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) this year. Being a flagship phone, there are chances that the Mi 7’s dual camera setup will be optimized with AI to give better photography experience.
