Samsung reportedly revealed foldable smartphone in private in CES


Rumors of Samsung making a foldable smartphone have been floating around for a long time now. It started with them showing off bendable displays few years back. Recently a folding smartphone patent solidified the rumors and people calling it Galaxy X. According to a report, Samsung has revealed the prototype to select partners in CES 2018. However the event was private so there aren’t many information.

Samsung had showed off foldable device prototype last year too. According to one of the exhibitors who was present in the private event, the device has a 7.3-inch foldable OLED display. There were models with fold-in and fold-out design. The fold-in device has a curvature of 1R while the fold-out device has a curvature of 5R.

This should not come unexpected with other companies working hard to bring out foldable devices. We are getting reports of Apple working on one of such prototype where Samsung might be the supplied of foldable screen. On the other hand Microsoft is rumored to work on foldable devices for their Surface Phone.
