The successor to the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is beginning to see the light of day with the price and launch of the device being leaked. The Redmi Note 5 is reportedly in the internal testing stages and will compete against the mid-range smartphones that will be launched during the Mobile World Congress in February.
We have seen the unannounced Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 being reportedly listed online a couple of times with specifications. But now, a new report has made its way on the web, confirming some of the specifications of the handset. As mentioned the My Drivers website, the smartphone could see the light of the day in Q2 this year.
he report said the Chinese company is waiting for Qualcomm to release the Snapdragon 632 mobile processor, a minor upgrade over the Snapdragon 636 that was announced way back in October last year. Redmi Note 4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 series and the series is due for a processor upgrade.
The upcoming mobile chip on the future Redmi Note 5 is expected to clock a slightly lower speed, as well as a lower-clocked GPU. However, the Snapdragon 632 is expected to retain the 14-bit Qualcomm Spectra 160 image signal processor (ISP), which supports dual-camera focal adjustments and improved low-light enhancements. The report also claims the price of the Redmi Note 5 will be 1599 Yuan, which is around Rs 16,000. However, it has no big changes as compared to the predecessor.
