Google’s version of Airdrop : Files Go now available as Beta.
Few days back, Google mistakenly pushed the “File’s Go” app in the Play Store, but took down as soon as it went live. Now, the company is bringing the app back in the form of an early dev build as a beta for anyone who wants to try it out.
Files Go is designed to help users manage files and clear out free space on their phones by automatically finding apps they aren’t using, plus other storage wasters like duplicate photos. But the more interesting portion of the app is the ability to send and receive files from other local Android devices without requiring internet connectivity (similar to Apple’s AirDrop).
Looks like some of you found our Files Go Beta 🙂 We thought we’d make it available for a few more of you on the Play Store. Feedback welcome! https://t.co/qXLb1V0bKu

The Files Go Beta is available now on the Play Store, but Google has yet to say when the final version will be released — or if, like YouTube Go, it will be restricted to specific regions when it is.
