OneNote for Android now supports fingerprint unlock for Notebook sections

OneNote for Android has been updated with fingerprint unlock support for Notebook sections, as well as password protection. Although these features were released to OneNote Insiders on Android a week ago, Microsoft has now rolled out version 16.0.8625.2040, which introduces them to regular users as well.

Previously, Android users could only set passwords for their notes using the OneNote desktop app. This makes the new feature all the more welcoming for OneNote Android users.

The change log for the update reads as follows:

  • Add a password to a section to keep your notes safe from prying eyes
  • Use your fingerprint to unlock password protected sections
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements
