Telegram Messenger updated to version 4.4, brings live location sharing and improved music player

Telegram messenger has been updated to version 4.4 for Android and iOS and it has been improved a lot. The update brings live location sharing, better music player, and better localization features.

Live location lets you share your location with any chat, be it a contact or group in real time. The location won’t be static, it’ll be updated as you’re on the move. Useful especially when you’re trying to meet up with someone and want to share your location with them continuously without sending static location continuously. This way they’ll be able to guide you better.

You can share live location for 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours. You can also stop sharing location by double tapping the “Live Location” bar on top of the screen.

This update also includes an improved music player. The in-app music player has been reworked to better support MP3s. You can view artist cover by tapping the track name.

Starting from this update, Telegram now officially supports 13 languages. The new languages that were added in this update are: French, Indonesian, Malay, Russian and Ukrainian, with more languages coming soon. Users can also provide feedback and improved translation to content by going to Telegram Translations. They’ve made this localization server sided, which will make any changes in phrases in any languages instant via a push update.

Miscellaneous changes include new “Admin” badge for group admins and option for supergroup admins to allow or prevent users from seeing previous chat history.
