HMD To Launch Android-Powered Nokia 2 In November

The Nokia 2 smartphone has been leaked several times in the past exposing the possible design and key specifications. In a previous report, we saw the renders of the alleged smartphone leak online tipping that the launch date could be October 5 as seen on the home screen of the renders. Today, we have a sort of confirmation from Nokia Myanmar regarding the launch of the Nokia 2.

Taking the clue from AndroidHits, according to the Facebook page of Nokia Myanmar, the Nokia 2 smartphone will be available in the country in November this year. The Nokia authorities handling the page have claimed so while replying to a chat by a Facebook user. Given that the availability of smartphone will start in November, we can expect the device to be announced sometime soon.

Being an extremely affordable offering, it’s possible that the Nokia 2 will only be released in developing markets and never make its way to the West where HMD Global is instead offering a somewhat more powerful Nokia 3, as well as the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 mid-rangers. The company was recently also rumored to be working on a new high-end device in the form of the Nokia 9 but it’s currently unclear whether that particular model is meant to be unveiled by the end of the year, provided that it’s actually planned for commercialization.
