To save power and improve battery life, Google is making new limits on implicit broadcasts,  background serviceslocation updates automatic which will make easier for developers to create apps which wont consume much power.

Notification channels Framework

Google brought a new framework for developers to work with notifications which will let users group notifications in channel and control how it would represent particular type of notifications. This new system of notification is mandatory if a developer is targeting his/her app for Oreo else the notification wont work. Google showed off some of the ideas with their music app and YouTube app.

Android TV always had a PiP mode but handsets used overlay system. With Oreo, google is bringing native PiP to the mobile platform. Developers can use this system to make a window of the app or its content and let it float while user is in another app or homepage. For example – you can watch YouTube videos while in Facebook that’s to PiP mode.
