Sony has launched its flagship grade Xperia XZ premium in India, today. The device has a 4K HDR display, the first of it’s kind in a smartphone in a 5.46″ display. We have seen 4K display on Xperia Z5 Premium but you would get 4K resolution only if you watch videos of the same resolution, whereas the XZ Premium has the 4K resolution everywhere, from the App Store to your social media profiles.
It has the latest high powered Snapdragon 835 under the hood, and Sony’s professional photography heritage including super slow motion capture round the back.
Here are some of the specs :
We have seen 4K displays in Sony Bravia Tvs but coupling them with a smartphone is what makes the XZ Premium stand out in the crowd. Although we don’t have much 4K content, Sony suggests you to view Amazon Prime videos.
The design is pretty much not a flagship grade but it makes the handset feel cheaper. Metal, glass and plastic isn’t flagship these days. The device is flat from the front and back with no curved glass, but a Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. The glass is a finger print magnet just like the iPhone 7 Jet Black and the Galaxy S8 , so it can end up really messy. The bezels are large, because of the front stereo speakers but is comfortable when you are using the landscape mode for gaming and watching videos. The device has a USB Type C port and also a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is becoming rare these days, specially after Motorola and Apple decided to ditch them.
The phone is overall good but couldn’t make it to the flagships we are getting these days. It is available at a price of ₹60k and you can also pre book it on Sony’s website.
