Web Payment option coming to Windows 10 in Creators Update

A fortnight ago Microsoft introduced new Payment Request API for windows, and now we have screenshots of the feature working on mobile. Although the feature is already available in build 14986 for PCs, the screenshots of it working on a mobile device have just surfaced on the Tech-news website MSPU.

This Payment Request API will integrate Microsoft Wallet directly into the  Edge browser. You can then pay using the payment methods associated with your Microsoft Account directly without entering your card details each and every time. However, this feature needs to be implemented by the website (the one you shop on) and the browsers too. Right now, besides Edge, Google Chromes the only one browser that supports Payment Request API.

The above screenshot are of payment method in Edge browser for Windows mobile devices. As you can see, users need to first add a payment method in his Microsoft Account, which then he can use across multiple purchases on different websites.

This technology might be new, but in coming time we can expect it to be accepted by most online retailer so as to streamline the shopping experience for their users.
