[Video Speed Comparison] Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10512 vs. Windows Phone 8.1

Microsoft has released Windows 10 so now everyone can upgrade from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, however there is one thing the company is still eagerly working on, Windows 10 Mobile. Windows 10 Mobile will be the next generation of their smartphone operating system and will then replace Windows Phone 8.1 on devices which are currently running Microsofts smartphone operating system. Over one month ago Microsoft has released the Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10166 which was a huge improvement compared to earlier Builds and a huge step in the right direction. Now just a few days ago Microsoft has released another Insider Preview which can be installed through the Windows Insider App on the phone and is available through the Fast Ring.

Build 10512 is the one we are talking about and as you can see there is a big jump in version numbers from Build 10166 to 10512, even the previously leaked Build 10240 is not even near to that official release. Featurewise Windows 10 Mobile is almost finished according Microsoft, however we have already heard that at least Microsofts new browser Edge will receive a few new important features with the next Build. So in this Build there is not really anything new to try and this brings us to the point where you might ask yourself, if the operating system is featurewise almost finished is Windows 10 Mobile ready to be shipped?

Well yes and no. Microsoft has done some great work with the completely overhauled system apps we do have in Windows 10 Mobile, new Outlook Mail, Calendar, Calculator, Settings, Alarms & Clock and so on which allow you to get more work done on your phone without the need of your desktop or tablet. Of course there are still missing some little things here and there like the dark design for example in the calendar and mail app but hey these are just little things which can be brought subsequently to the OS at any time.
What really matters now is the fact that Windows 10 Mobile is not that stable like we are used to from Windows Phone 8.1. As mentioned Microsoft has done a huge step in the right direction with Build 10166 and it seems that they are really trying their best with Windows 10 Mobile.

Below you can have a look at a speed comparison between Windows Phone 8.1 and the recently published Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10512, now keep in mind that Windows 10 Mobile is still in Preview State and the operating system has not been finished yet. So if you notice anything which is still missing in Windows 10 Mobile do not write a hater comment below, but open the feedback app and submit your suggestions for the OS, that is the only way how Microsoft can know what you want to be implemented in Windows 10 Mobile. You can also head over to the Windows Phone UserVoice platform where you can submit your feedback.
