The Windows 10 Launch Event won’t be just another Windows Launch Event
Everyone knows these Windows Launch Events from Microsoft. They are pretty similar to all launch events, where some people from the press around the world are invited to join the event live and then there is also the way to tune in via a Live Stream which Microsoft is providing for almost all of their events. However with Windows 10 the way how feedback gets honored has changed and same counts for they way how it will be officially published world wide. As you might know, the launch will happen on the 29th of July and that is not that far away anymore. Lately Microsoft is releasing new Insider Preview Builds of Windows 10 for desktops a lot faster which indicates that Microsoft is well prepared for the launch of the new operating system, and also the packaging of Windows 10 has leaked ahead of the launch event already.
Yusuf Mehdi, author of the blog article at the official Windows Blog, says the following in his article:”From the beginning, Windows 10 has been unique – built with feedback from our fans, delivered as a service and offered as a free upgrade. Our approach to launch is also unique – focused on a more aspirational goal, inspired by Windows 10.” With the launch of Windows 10 on the 29th of July, Microsoft will host global fan celebrations to give Windows Insiders and all other Windows Fans the chance to be a part of the launch of Windows 10. Over 5 Million Windows Insiders are now part of the Insider Program and therefor Microsoft will hold special launch events for them in 13 cities around the globe. So if you are living in one of the following cities or near them you will be able to join one of these launch events: Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, New Delhi, Dubai, Nairobi, Berlin, Johannesburg, Madrid, London, Sao Paolo, and New York City;
The launch event is one thing but then Microsoft has also the job to convince people to upgrade from their current operating system to the latest one, Windows 10. In order to reach that goal as fast as possible, the company is also cooperating with a few retailers around the world which offer some help for those users who are not sure about the upgrade or who need some help with upgrading their current Windows 10 machine. In order to get some help with the upgrade you can visit one of the following retailers after the official launch of Windows 10: Best Buy, Bic Camera, Croma, Currys/PC World, Elkjøp, Jarrir, Incredible Connection, Media Markt, Staples, Wal-Mart, Yamada, Yodobashi; However these are not all reatailers, in fact Microsoft has made an alliance with a huge number of retailers which are not all mentioned in the blog post at the Windows Blog.
Apart from that Microsoft has also announced the so called Upgrade Your World initiative which will last for one year, beginning with 29th of July. This has been initiated by Microsoft to “celebrate those who inspire and empower others, led by our vision to help people achieve more through technology and in celebration of the Windows 10 launch.“. Below you can have a look at a video which Microsoft has published on YouTube along with this campaign, for further details about that you can also visit the Windows Blog and have a look at the full post there from Yusuf Mehdi.
