Microsoft starts offering the Lumia 535 in the United States

At the end of last year Microsoft officially announced the Lumia 535, a very affordable Windows Phone which was available to buy shortly after its release. At least in some parts of the world, in the United States it is now available to buy from official Microsoft Stores instead to third party retailers which was the only way to get one in the US before. The Microsoft Lumia 535 is set to be a Low End device, at least according it’s name but it is indeed a Windows Phone with some cool hardware specifications at a very aggressive price point.
As a small reminder for you I have listed the most important specifications of the device below, for more details head over to the Microsoft Store where are specifications of the device are listed.

  • Screen:
    5″ | 960px x 540px
  • Display:
    Corning Gorilla Glass 3
  • Processor:
1.2 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 200
  • RAM:
  • Storage:
    8GB internal
Micro SD Card up to 128GB
    OneDrive Storage up to 30GB
  • Rear Camera:
  • Front-Facing Camera:
    5MP Wide Angle

So now where the specifications of this device are refreshed in your mind, think of the price for which this is available in the Microsoft Store. Yep the price is as low as 149.99$, which is a really good price for a SIM Unlocked device with such specifications. You have to keep in mind that the Windows Phone operating system doesn’t need good hardware to run fluently unlike some other operating systems out there. With 1GB you will also have enough RAM so that you do not have to worry if all app are compatible with your device since 1GB is the maximum which an app needs. Tough it can of course happen that an app is running more fluently with even more RAM.
Unfortunately Microsoft has released the Lumia 640 a few weeks ago which is available for an even lower price with even better specs. This is a shame since the Lumia 535 is a cool device but it will probably not get very much attention with the Lumia 640 and the Lumia 640 XL. It would be odd to pay more for an older device which is not even that good like its competitor.

However if you still want to have a look at the Lumia 535 you can head over to the Microsoft Store to have a look at it. Stay tuned for more information about new Windows Phone devices from Microsoft, in case you have any questions or suggestions, drop me a comment below.
