Windows Phone apparently gets selfie stick support with Update 2 + Lumia Camera 5

For those looking to buy selfie sticks, but worried about compatibility, worry no more!

Disclaimer: This is partly an excuse for me to include a selfie of myself 😉
I must say I’m very excited about this. It was reported over at WMPowerUser that Lumia Camera 5, along with Update 2 bring support for selfie sticks. This may not seem like a big deal, but to some it’s pretty disappointing when we can’t join in on all the selfie fun!
Apparently the feature works with Android shutter buttons, whereas iOS buttons don’t seem to function. Check out the video below to see it working on a Lumia 930:

Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 will only be available for few select phones, which should include the Lumia 735, 640, 640XL, 830 and 930 (some should come with it out of the box, others through the Insider Program). Lumia Camera 5, on the other hand is also limited to few Lumia devices, about half of which were just listed.
Unfortunately my Lumia 735 doesn’t quite make the cut (I’m on the Windows 10 preview), but I have my fingers crossed! With it’s awesome 5MP front-facing shooter, I can get some awesome selfies with this thing! A selfie stick would make it much more fun!
Is anyone else looking to get a selfie stick?
