HERE Updates Windows Phone apps to fix sign-in and favorites sync issues

HERE has decided to bring their apps for both Android and iOS operating system. Since the company is not tied to the Windows Phone ecosystem anymore they gave it a chance an released the apps, so that they are offering their service now for all three major platforms. Not only on twitter but also my friends and colleagues were worrying that if HERE distances itself from the Windows Phone platform the support may not bee that good anymore as it was in the early days of Microsofts mobile OS. However I think all these pessimists have now proven wrong, once again.

The HERE team is still working hard on bringing the best maps experience also to Windows Phone. The company once said that Windows Phone will not get that massive updates in the near future since they have to concentrate on the freshly released Android and iOS apps, according to my opinion this is understandable. However since they have made this statement some time passed by and in the mean time we have already seen a great maps Update and now we are also getting another update which includes some bug fixes for the whole HERE Suite. Sure there are some features which the HERE team is currently experimenting with on other platforms but I am sure once these are mature features they will be ported also to Windows Phone.

However, HERE Drive+, HERE Maps, HERE Transit, and HERE City Lens have received this Update today and all four apps included the following changelog:

  • HERE account sign-in issues fixed
  • Favorites and Collections synchronization fixed
  • Other bug fixes

So head over to the Windows Phone App Store to download

  • HERE Drive+

  • HERE Maps

  • HERE City Lens

  • HERE Transit
