Microsoft announces Lumia 430 Dual SIM
Yesterday Microsoft has teased a new Low Budget Lumia device in their official Lumia Conversations Blog. At this time they told us to come back today at 8:00 AM in the morning (UK time) so we did. And what Microsoft teased yesterday was the Lumia 430, another Windows Phone for a super low price but with pretty good hardware.
With a price of 70$ the Lumia 430 is a Smartphone with the full Windows Phone Experience including all the Microsoft Services and doesn’t cost more than a feature phone. This is not the final price though because it is still without taxes, With taxes you will be somewhere between 90$ – 100$ which is still a pretty awesome price.
The latest Windows Phone in the Lumia family will ship with Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Denim preinstalled. But we all know that Windows Phone 8.1 will be passé soon and therefore you might be asking: Will it get Windows 10? I’m glad you asked because the answer is a simple ‘yes’.
Let’s talk about hardware specifications, with the Lumia 430 you will get a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, a 4″ WVGA 800 x 480 Display and a 1500 mAh battery. These specs are actually not bad and the best thing about it is, that you will get 1GB of RAM with the device and the possibility to use 2 SIM cards. 1 GB of RAM means you won’t have to worry about apps which aren’t working on this device.
Below you can have a look at the full specification list of the Lumia 430:
|Operating system||Widows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim|
|Display||4-inch WVGA (800 x 480, 15:9), 235 PPI|
|Battery||1500 mAh replaceable|
|Processor||1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 200 processor|
|Main camera||2 MP, Fixed focus|
|Front-facing camera||VGA 0.3 MP|
|Memory||8 GB + 30 GB OneDrive***, MicroSD up to 128 GB|
|Dimensions||120.5 x 63.19 x 10.63 mm
Thanks to the front camera of the Lumia 430, it is not problem to use Video Chat Services like Skype for example. Firthermore you will not run out of memory because you will get 8 GB internal memory plus a microSD slot where you can expand the storage up to 128 GB. Since people love to take photos with their smartphones, Microsoft is also offering you 15 GB of extra OneDrive storage if you enable to automatic photo upload from your phone to OneDrive.
Beginning with April the device will be available in APAC, IMEA, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Belarus in Black and Orange.
So once again, a really aggressive move from Microsoft here into the Low Budget territory which are normally dominated by Android devices. According to my opinion this is another solid device which has been brought up here and the best thing is you will not have any loss in features with this device. You get the full Windows Phone experience and will receive Updates as long as all the other Lumia devices. Android can not compete here.
Let me know your opinion on this device below in comments.
