Just when it seems like there couldn’t possibly be anymore industry pain-points to tackle, T-Mobile always seems to find another one. The unstoppable Uncarrier is at it again with their industry-challenging moves and this time, T-Mobile is working to get a smartphone in everyone’s hands, regardless of your credit history. That’s right, even if you have bad credit, you can qualify for smartphone purchases and upgrades with no-money-down deals. The only caveat is that you have to have good payment history with T-Mobile for at least 12 months.
T-Mobile already has a pretty sweet upgrade program with Jump, and this now takes it even further, giving benefits to customers who are loyal and pay their bills on time. CEO John Legere calls the initiative “Smartphone Equality” and wants those loyal customers to know that they aren’t forgotten by lowering another barrier of buying a smartphone. So new members will have to wait 12 months to take advantage of the deal, while current members will merely have to keep paying their bill on time and calculate from there.
It’s moves like this that really set the Magenta carrier apart from the rest. It’s no wonder they’re soon expected to surpass Sprint as the 3rd largest carrier by subscribers, and there seems to be no slowing them down!
