We’ve been seeing some early leaks of the HTC One (M9) that made us think that the design would basically go unchanged from the previous version. Turns out HTC has been reportedly using decoys in order to get us off their scent and prevent any real leaks of what their next flagship will look like. Well we might finally have more credible leaks of the device as shown by retired leaker @evleaks.

The photo shows two different phones, meaning we’re likely looking at the One M9 and the rumored One M9 Ultra (right). The new design also falls in line with reports that HTC will revamp their flagship and give it some design cues from the Nexus 9 tablet. This includes the new design and placement of the front-facing speakers to just a pair of slits on the edges of the device, in addition to a full glass panel, removal of the black bar, and what appears to be a front-facing camera similar to the one found on the Desire Eye. That means we can probably expect a larger sensor with either an UltraPixel resolution or a regular 13MP shooter. The back isn’t shown, so we still don’t know if we’re to expect a dual-camera setup, but rumors point to a 20MP rear shooter, which is a nice bump from the current 4MP. It also looks like the M9 Prime might be getting a fingerprint scanner.
It’s unsure whether or not this is what the new devices will look like, as it could easily be someone’s render of what we think they’ll look like, but even so, it’s pretty convincing. If this is indeed what we’re to expect from HTC’s new flagship, then you can be sure I’ll be in line to get one!
