Windows 10 for Phones will be introduced on January 21st by Microsoft

As you may know or not, Microsoft is going to hold a big event on January 21st, so in about two weeks with live stream to follow. This event is dedicated to Windows 10 which has been released already as a Technical Preview to the public for testing purposes. Microsoft has also send out some invitations stating Windows 10 The Next Chapter what means that we will most likely see the Consumer Version of Windows 10, according to other news in the past, the Windows 10 Consumer Preview will be available to download directly after the event.
However this is clear since Microsoft has confirmed the event some time ago but today Tom Warren said that also Windows 10 for Phones will be presented at this event, as you can see at the tweet below:

The event will be held by Microsoft on January 21st in Redmond and while only people who got an invitation for it can take part at the event, there will be, as mentioned above also a live stream where you can follow the event from. Currently Windows 10 for Phones is expected to be the operating system for smartphones and tablets most likely that’s why it will be called Windows Mobile 10 tough Microsoft has not confirmed anything of this yet.

We do not know much about new features of Windows Mobile 10 yet but there will probably come changes to the start screen, it will be possible to use apps side by side just like in Windows 10 for desktop and it will come with a new version of Microsoft Office, optimized for touch. The Update should be available for free and will come for all current Windows Phone 8.1 devices.
