Good news, Microsoft has published another Update for Windows Phone users who are participants of the Developer Preview Program. Lately the Battery Saver app has already been updated by Microsoft which suggested that there is an OS Update on the way too. The Battery Saver app got the ability to update the Live Tile in Real Time with the current percentage of your battery. However Real Time Updates for Live Tiles are only possible with the 14203 Update for Windows Phone 8.1.
So this Update is necessary to enable the Real Time Live Tile of your updated Battery Saver app but it brings also some other changes to your Windows Phone, all changes what it brings are listed below:
- NTP (Network Time Protocol) gets enrolled to more users.
- Real Time Live Tile for Battery Saver App.
- Battery Saver shows battery percentage in real time.
- Battery Saver can be set as Quick Setting in the Action Center.
- OS Update scheduler.
According to Windows Central the Network Time Protocol, which is responsible to show you the right time and date, has now been enrolled to even more users to test it but this is not confirmed yet as we can not see this change and Microsoft has not published an official change log yet.
So if you are participating the Windows Phone Developer Preview programm go to ‘Settings’ –> ‘Phone Update’ and click on check now in order to see if an Update is available for your device. If there is one available you should see the following operating system version to install: 8.10.14203.306. Below you can see some screenshots of the new Battery Saver app as a Quick Setting and the Update Scheduler you will also notice that the Battery Saver app is now showing you if you are currently in battery saver mode or not on its Live Tile.
