According to Mike Mongeau who is now the Supportability Program Manager for Windows Phone at Microsoft, this is a critical update and contains usual scope of fixes and improvements.

He said, “This update contains our usual scope of fixes and improvements. We’re requiring this update so we can continue to test our update systems. The update will show as a “critical update” on your phone.”

Here is what you need to do to get this latest critical update.

If you have already subscribed to the Preview for Developers, you might already know what to do anyways, here is what you need to do. Follow the below directions.

Note: This update took 28 minutes on my L920. This time depends on your device.

In case you have any issues with your phone after the update, you can leave a comment in the Windows Phone blog.

I installed this update on my Nokia Lumia 920 and after a long 28 minutes, I found few of my apps were getting re-installed. So in case any of your apps says it won’t work right away, just make sure the app has been re-installed. Talking about improvements, well I haven’t noticed anything specific except that I just got an extra 150 MB on the Storage Check.

Let us know on the comments below if you notice any improvements.
