As reckoned, Mr. Balaji launched Nokia X in India for a price tag of Rs 8,599 on Monday. Right after the launch, the Nokia (India) Managing Director said,

This device runs a forked version of Android laid up with Microsoft Services instead of the regular Google services. So you will have no Google play however Nokia will have its own store and also this gives access to 3rd Party store from where we can download Android apps. With Nokia X series in the Nokia family, we can now side load Android Apps too, subsequently this can run 75% of the Apps in the Android world while the remaining apps will need little alterations to work on the Nokia X series. Don’t expect a high performance application to work on this greenhorn.

As revealed earlier, the Nokia X will be released first followed by Nokia X+ and Nokia XL.

Balaji added, “Asha, Nokia X and the Lumia range are three separate offerings. While the price of each of these will come down with time, they have their own set of features that offers value to a particular set of people.”

Apart from the Android glee, Nokia X has its own devoted apps like the Onedrive, Skype, HERE Maps and Mixed Radio all roped in.

Just above India, China has started taking pre-orders of Nokia X starting Monday and Nokia has partnered with JD.com to sell the “X” series in China. The price of Nokia X is CNY 599 which comes to around 70 Euros. This is cheaper than the projected price at the MWC 2014. NokiaX China
