Microsoft’s Personal Digital Assitant Code Name Cortana is Shaping Up
Microsoft’s Personal Digital Assistant Code Name Cortana has floated around the news once again. This is the service to rival Apple’s Personal Digital Assistant Siri and Google’s Personal Digital Assistant called Google Now.
I do not see anything wrong with the current Windows speech recognition service. Our Editor In Chief Lenny actually finds it useful. Says “It does similar functions to what other rivals have now.” I actually agree with him, seeing him use it in his car and on a daily basis in his workplace.
But I guess Microsoft has to take it up a notch & level the playing field between them, Apple, and Google.
Reported by Tom Warren from The Verge, Cortana is shaping up to what it will look like in its final form.
Cortana will also have similar features like its rivals.
- Users can set how they want to be addressed by the voice-activated assistant
Cortana has the ability to save information and data in a Notebook system. Notebook will allow the Cortana digital assistant to access information such as location data, behaviors, personal information, reminders, and contact information. Cortana can also track flights or other mentions in emails, allowing it to generate notifications similar to Google Now.
This is cool.. Its your new digital girlfriend trying to know you.. Kind of spooky too like trying to stalk or spy on you.. Those information can be dangerous and hacked as well.
Like what we said, Cortana is still on Beta Testing Mode. The name Cortana is not final, Microsoft can stick to it or they might have a change of heart and rename it. Microsoft is expected to announce Cortana along with the Windows Phone 8.1 update at its upcoming Build Conference this coming Spring April 2 – 4, 2014 Save the date! Click Here for more details.
