Windows Phone User Base in South Africa Grows 47%
South African mobile carrier VodaCom has released figures for the last two months which have seen Windows Phone installed user base grow 47%.
Active Windows Phone users on Vodacom have grown from 150,000 in May to 220,000 in July. Nokia make up roughly 85% of all Windows Phone sales, and the super affordable Lumia 520 looks like it could be responsible for much of the growth.
Windows Phone is still behind Blackberry, Android and iOS on the carrier, but saw the largest growth in the two months. Blackberry which has the most users remained static at 3,100,000. iOS didn’t see any growth either remaining on 600,000 while Android grew 200,000 to 1,200,000.
