Your shiny new AT&T Exclusive Nokia Lumia 900 arrived, your initial setup is complete and you cannot wait to install some apps for it. Nokia Innovation has compiled a list Windows Phone apps that we believe you could find useful on your new Lumia 900. 

As you might have already noticed, Marketplace has apps 3 types of apps:

  • Free
  • Try to before you purchase
  • Purchase only

Try before you purchase is a nice way for the developer to allow the user to test drive the app.  Some functionality could be disabled but will be available after purchasing the full version.

App Discovery

A really good way to browse through the apps available for your Windows Phone is to open Marketplace from your phone or Windowsphone.com.

 Navigation:

Under the Nokia collection, you will find Nokia Drive (Lumia Exclusive).  After downloading this app, you can download the desired maps onto your device and use the Lumia 900 as a GPS (NatSav) in online or offline mode.

Twitter:

There are a handful of great twitter apps on the WP platform and there are a few that are free and some are try before purchase:

Rowi lite (free)

Rowi ($0.99 until April 15, 2012 then back to $2.99)

Carbon (trial or purchase)

Mehdoh (free)

Seesmic (free)

Photo enhancements:

Pictures Lab allows you to edit a photo; choose an effect or border and submit the pic to twitter or FaceBook.

Creative Studio (Lumia Exclusive) by Nokia allows you add filters to your pic and you could stitch multiple images into one.

You can pin Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and Airplane mode shortcuts to your start screen for direct access to them and more
